The biennial 13th MAKS – International Aviation and Space Salon kicked off on July 18, 2017 in Zhukovsky City located in the suburbs of Moscow. More than 790 aerospace enterprises from 26 countries and regions participated at this exhibition, showcasing their thousands of R&D fruits or design concepts and seeking partners for cooperation.
AVIC, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, exhibited various main military and civil aircraft, including the military ones – the Y9E transport, single and twin seat FC-1/JF-17, L-15 advanced trainer as well as Wing Loong I UAS. As the highlight of the exhibition, the Wing Loong I all size model at the outside static area attracted a lot of customers and companies to visit and consult.
On the first day, Russian President Putin attended the opening ceremony and toured the exhibition hall. He made a special visit to the China’s exhibition area. The media, foreign aerospace enterprises, air forces and delegations of departments of national defense also visited the AVIC’s stand, showing their strong interests in the aircraft types, especially the Y9E transporter and Wing Loong I UAV.
